Road Trips Around Dakhla: Local Routes and Rental Conditions

Discover Dakhla at your own pace with CMB CARS. Our local team can help you choose the right vehicle for the lagoon, coastal viewpoints and nearby excursions, with convenient personalised Dakhla Airport pickup.

1. Explore Dakhla city

Drive along the city’s main roads, visit the waterfront and discover local restaurants and markets. An economy car such as a Dacia Logan or Renault Clio is a practical choice for paved urban roads. Plan your stops and use designated parking.

2. Visit the Dakhla lagoon

Explore the lagoon’s spectacular waters, kitesurfing spots and waterfront camps. Choose an economy car or a spacious SUV for stays with paved-road access, and ask our team to recommend a vehicle for your accommodation.

3. Discover Foum El Bouir and coastal viewpoints

Enjoy the Atlantic coastline, beautiful sunsets and scenic viewpoints near Dakhla. Our team can suggest convenient routes for your chosen rental vehicle.

4. Plan White Dune and Imlili excursions carefully

For approved tracks, a genuine 4×4 such as a Suzuki Jimny may be appropriate, depending on the rental agreement and current conditions. Driving off-road or on sand is not covered by rental insurance, even in a 4×4. A Dacia Duster 2WD must not be driven onto sandy tracks. Confirm the route and tide conditions in advance, or book a guided excursion with an experienced local driver.

Which vehicle should you choose?

• Economy car: Great value for city trips, airport transfers and lagoon stays with paved-road access.
• SUV: More comfort and luggage space for families and kitesurfers.
• Genuine 4×4: A capable choice for selected local excursions, with routes and insurance conditions confirmed before departure.
